Dr. Lusby, in collaboration with her colleague, Dr. Sheryl Jackson, Ph.D., conceived the idea for Psych-Chat, an online podcast and social media company. Collectively, Dr. Lusby and Dr. Jackson boast more than 60 years of combined psychological knowledge and experience. Their mission is to utilize various social media platforms as vehicles for sharing this valuable information with a broader audience.
Dr. Sheryl Jackson, Ph.D., graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Psychology. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Louisiana State University in 1994. Dr. Jackson then joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School faculty where she was the Director of the Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Program, Director of Internship Training, Asst. Dr. Jackson has taught at several universities including UAB, LSU, Samford University, and Birmingham Southern University. During her time at UAB, she clinically supervised doctoral students, doctoral interns, psychiatry residents and served on thesis and dissertation committees. Dr. Jackson has spoken across the US offering continuing education to fellow mental health practitioners, primarily on the subject of the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
In 2006, she opened the Anxiety Clinic of North Texas in Colleyville, Texas. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD across the lifespan. She has co-written various research articles, book chapters, and a book addressing children returning to school during the time of COVID.
Together, Dr. Jackson and colleague, Dr. Beth Lusby conceived of Psych-Chat, an online podcast and social media company. They hope to use social media platforms to disseminate the information from their combined years of training and experience. They strive not to be influencers, but rather informants.
